Mixed Media Artist
Shalini Bharadwaj
Shalini developed an interest in art and design at an early age and studied Graphic Design at Nottingham Trent University, graduating with First Class Honours and winning major national awards including the D&AD and Society of Typographic Designers awards. After a successful career with leading London digital design agencies, she now focuses on her creative practice from her West London studio, including her venture HUTKE Art & Jewellery.
Shalini describes herself as a ‘Creative Experimentalist.’ She explains, “For me, creativity is a journey of experimentation and exploration. The process is as important as the end result. I rarely start with a preconceived idea - I like to see where the material and momentum take me.”
Shalini explores a wide range of subject matter including still life, figuration, abstract landscapes and stylised portraiture in her work. Her paintings are characterised by a dynamic interplay of intense light and shadow, often contrasted with the delicacy of translucent forms. Her layered compositions are built through a mixed-media approach using acrylic paint, charcoal, high-pigment inks and Japanese silk tissue paper, creating surfaces rich in texture, depth, and visual complexity.
Shalini has exhibited widely across the UK, including with the Royal Society of British Artists at the Mall Galleries, London, where her painting 'Take a Pause' was selected for their Bicentennial Exhibition in 2023. In 2025, she reached a significant milestone when two of her works were sold at auction at Bonhams, London. A regular exhibitor at the Affordable Art Fair London (Hampstead and Battersea), Harrow Open Studios, and the Borough of Ealing Art Trail, Shalini’s work is rapidly gaining recognition among collectors of South Asian art.
Inspired by her Indian heritage, Shalini’s work seeks to evoke deep emotional connection. She reflects, “When people engage with art that resonates with their own memories and experiences, it can lead to a rich tapestry of emotions.” Shalini draws on cultural and personal associations - memories of people, places, objects and childhood nostalgia. Capturing fleeting moments in time, she creates evocative visual narratives that remain open-ended, making each encounter a dialogue between image and memory.

Serigrapher
Christian Azolan
Based in the heart of Dorset, Christian Azolan is a multidisciplinary serigrapher and visual artist whose work serves as a vibrant intersection between traditional craft and modern minimalism. With a technical foundation built at Ravensbourne (BA in Fashion Design) and Central Saint Martins (MA in Fine Art), Christian brings a couturier’s eye for detail to the world of fine art. His practice is a rich exploration of texture and medium, spanning silkscreen printing, 23ct gold gilding and silverwork, wood and cotton paper photography and painting.
At the core of Christian’s portfolio is a deep-seated fascination with nature movement. He possesses a rare ability to strip away the unnecessary, utilising minimalism to highlight the raw elegance of form and colour. This philosophy is most evident in his celebrated ongoing series, "The Birds." Launched in 2020, this collection uses the fluid grace of avian flight to explore profound themes of freedom, fantasy, and escapism.
Christian’s work isn't just about aesthetics; it’s a response to the world around us. His most iconic piece, Golden Flock a stunning 23ct gold screenprint serves as a visual metaphor for human connection. It reflects his belief that, much like a flock in flight, we must work in unison to navigate the uncertainties of the modern world and create a collective future.
Through his lens, the wild is reimagined as a sanctuary of simplicity, inviting viewers to find peace in the rhythm of the natural world.

Ceramicist
Riecha Kapoor
Riecha Kapoor is a London-based ceramic artist whose practice is deeply inspired by the fluidity, movement, and quiet strength of water. Her work explores the delicate balance between motion and stillness, capturing organic forms that echo the rhythms, textures, and erosive beauty of natural landscapes shaped by water over time.
Her journey into ceramics began serendipitously during her travels through India, where she was drawn to the tactile, meditative nature of clay. Over the years, this connection has evolved into a dedicated practice, informed by workshops, apprenticeships, and an ongoing spirit of experimentation.
Working from her studio in London, Riecha creates both functional pieces and sculptural works, with her recent collections focusing on wall-based forms that evoke flowing currents, ripples, and layered terrains. Through a combination of hand-building, wheel throwing, and intricate surface techniques, she pushes the boundaries of clay to create pieces that feel dynamic—almost as if they are in motion, even in their stillness.
Her work has been exhibited in galleries and art fairs and is held in private collections internationally. Alongside her studio practice, Riecha is passionate about sharing her love for ceramics, regularly teaching workshops and nurturing creativity in others.
When not in the studio, she seeks inspiration in nature, travel, and the ever-changing qualities of water—its ability to shape, transform, and quietly endure.

Her wall pieces are painted with cobalt on porcelain with a Chinese brush painting spontaneous style technique and fired thrice including with a 24k gold lustre. Visual Artist
Alex Ebdon
Alex describes the inspiration for his work as being capturing ‘moments of magic’. He says, ‘My work is all about capturing the moment - the moment that nature reveals a second of striking beauty in a landscape, the moment that a glance or expression perfectly describes a person, the moment that elements combine and conspire to turn the mundane into the majestic.’
The British landscape is something that Alex is continually drawn to. Through his semi-abstract paintings he looks to capture the feeling of being within these landscapes and to transport the viewer to a place, moment or memory that they uniquely hold special.
Alex studied Fine Art at Blackpool & The Fylde College and went on to have a distinguished career in advertising. He founded his own art business in 2016, which operates across a range of creative areas. Alex is Chair of the Borough of Ealing Art Trail (BEAT), which provides over 250 artists across Ealing the opportunity to exhibit their work through an annual open studio event.

Visual Artist
Gail Astbury
Based in London, working from her new studio in Lisson Grove Marylebone and her retreat in Western France, Gail makes paintings that explore the natural world whether that be observed, remembered, or reimagined. She also teaches the art of Watercolour painting at Pitzhanger Monor Gallery in Ealing.
Gail is best known for her series of oil paintings and watercolours. Her oil paintings are made with beautiful traditional Old Holland oil paints onto Italian stretched canvas's made by Belle Arte. For her watercolours, she uses traditional Sennelier pigments, where honey is added as a binder to give the colours a unique fluidity and lustre.
To describe her painting practice, she says, “There is a lyrical balancing act that takes place to find new ways to express what it feels like to live now in this moment and yet celebrate and wrestle with the past. My choice of motif is determined by my desire to connect with my surroundings emotionally and symbolically. The imagery originates from working from life, taking photographs, drawing upon art history, and contemporary culture, as well as mining my experiential memories.
In terms of influences, I am drawn to the landscape paintings of mid-century British artists such as Ivon Hitchens, more recently, the great David Hockney for his multiple viewpoints, Katherine Bradford for her use of saturated colours and physical memory and the late contemporary artist Matthew Wong for his scale and energy. I value these artists and many more, for their skill in showing what it feels like to step into and be part of the enigmatic world of painting.
In terms of technique there has been a shift in my work towards using stronger colour combinations and more dynamic compositions. The use of multiples and themes is still in play, and I have added an element of risk to my process by allowing images to emerge from the paint without a pre-drawn composition.
The choice of medium is usually determined by time, scale, and subject matter. Oil paint allow for contemplation and reworkings, while watercolour can be more daring with its speed and translucency."
